Our story

Family business since 1953

As the fourth generation, we are proud owners of this amazing place.
In 2017, the adventure started for us. The following years we made it more and more our dream place. We bring all the inspiration we gain from fine accommodations during our own travels back to Boulevard 5. So that guests feel just as at home with us as we do at our dream places in other countries.

We love to be here at the beach in all seasons, of course in summer to visit the beach and the amazing beach clubs to enjoy a relaxed meal ( or a cocktail ; ) with our feet in the sand. Our favorite beach clubs are Tent 6, Ubuntu and Fosfor all on the south side of Zandvoort beach.
Spring to explore the beautiful national parks that surround us and see all the wildlife. Especially the different walks through the Waterleidingduinen where you will definitely see lots of deer.
Fall to make the most of the wind and go kitesurfing. Last but not least winter to have hot chocolate while watching the waves in stormy weather.

Joleen, Bas and I used to be colleagues at another employer, one day we happened to run into each other and soon we thought it was a great plan if I joined the Boulevard 5 team… so since May 2018 I’m a team member and I still love working here.

You can find me everywhere in the hotel, whether it’s breakfast, check-in or small repairs, that’s what makes my job fun and varied.

My goal is to make sure that our guests have the most relaxed and pleasant stay possible. Outside of work I’m a mother of two teenagers and can often be found in the national park “Kennemerduinen” Cycling, running and walking doesn’t matter, the beautiful nature gives me energy! So if you are looking for tips about a nice cycling/ walking track, I will be happy to tell you about it.

I have been working for the previous owner (Joleen’s father) at Boulevard 5 Boutique hotel since 2010 and now for 6 years with the current owners Joleen and her husband Sebastiaan. I knew the hotel before it was renovated. It was very nice to see the new generation shine again and to experience the developments.

The reason I have worked for so long is because the team is so incredibly nice, there is a pleasant atmosphere in the hotel and I love to see returning guests again.

I have been working at Boulevard 5 since April 1, 2021. I feel like a jack of all trades and love to provide guests with a nice breakfast and to show them around Zandvoort and the surrounding area. My German is excellent and I know a lot about Zandvoort.

In addition, I am a real outdoorsman, my main hobby is gardening. I like to go to the South Beach (Southbeach) because of the tranquility. If I want to dance, Woodstock is a must on Friday evening (best kept secret). And for a real family feeling you have to go to Meijer aan Zee. And don’t forget the nice bars in the village, of which Laurel and Hardy is my favorite. After all, I am still a volunteer at the Zandvoort Museum. You are more than welcome to visit.

Hi, I’m the newest team member. In addition to my work as an allround receptionist, I like to keep myself busy with the styling and graphic expressions of the hotel. I love working at boulevard, especially because of the lovely team, fantastic seaview and casual beach vibe. In the summers you will find me at the beach clubs on a daily basis. My faves are Ohana, Ubuntu, Kayuca for the lovely food and vibes, Also Tent 6, Noosa and Thalassa which are especially great spots for my little daughter, where she can play around safely in the sand en playgrounds while you can sit and grab a bite watching the kids from a small distance.

Besides the beach, I also enjoy walking in the Amsterdamse waterleiding- dunes. Especially in the spring where you will encounter large groups of deer. Overall I feel privileged to live in Zandvoort.
